Assistant/Associate Professor, Hospitality Management
The School of Travel Industry Management (TIM) is a well-established,
fully accredited program in the fields of hospitality, tourism and
transportation education and research. Founded in 1966, the School
pioneered the concept of integrating all aspects of travel, tourism, and
hospitality management under a single discipline, drawing on its unique
location to provide a living laboratory for undergraduate, graduate and
professional studies. Additional information is available at

One tenure-track position (No. 82449), available Fall 2005. Teach
undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality management, and
additional subjects based on the candidate's specific expertise and
programmatic need. The latter may include areas such as hotel management,
sales & catering, and convention & meetings planning. Engage in research
and scholarly activities leading to publishable works; participate in
professional, university, and department service; advise undergraduate and
graduate students; and supervise graduate student research.
Minimum Qualifications: Assistant Professor: Doctorate from a college or
university of recognized standing in a relevant field, especially
hospitality management; evidence of teaching ability at the baccalaureate
level; evidence of ability to complete publishable research. For assistant
professor position, applicants who have completed doctorate requirements,
except for the dissertation, will also be considered with a letter from
their advisor confirming progress toward degree and expected date of
completion. Associate Professor: Same as assistant professor, plus an
additional four years of full-time college or university teaching at the
rank of assistant professor or equivalent and publication record
commensurate to appointment. Desirable Qualifications: Three or more years
of management experience in the hotel/lodging industry; experience with
web-enhanced and/or distance education.
