The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC), the Midwest's
largest culinary arts school, is seeking an experienced professional to
translate long-term strategies into day-to-day practices critical to
ensuring that students receive a quality learning experience. A quality
program, location in Chicago's River North area and continued support from
our parent company, Career Education Corporation, are just some of the
reasons for our growth over the last few years. CHIC offers two Associate
degrees and has nearly 1,000 enrolled students.
As a member of CHIC's executive team, you will provide leadership to:
Ensure compliance with state licensing and accreditation standards.
Recruit, select, supervise, manage, develop, and evaluate the faculty and
academic staff. Monitor and achieve student retention goals throughout the
Institution. Develop and implement 'best' retention policies and
practices. Provide coordination of the curriculum development process.
Monitor a process of continuous curriculum improvement promoting curricula
offerings that remain industry current and provide a high quality learning
experience. Champion faculty development. Promote student support
services. Develop the academic budget and manage expenditures throughout
the year. Oversee Registration and Records to ensure maintenance of
students records, appropriate application of transfer credit, timely
posted of grades/mailing of grade reports, transcript requests, monitoring
and appropriate application of SAP, degree audits, graduation evaluations,
etc.
Qualified candidates will have at least 7 years of related professional
experience within proprietary education, including at least 4 years in a
supervisory position. Accreditation experience with regional and/or other
national accrediting bodies and demonstrated knowledge of selecting
pedagogy that creates a quality, learner-centered educational experience
are critical to success in this position. Excellent communications,
project management, analytical skills are vital.
