Position:
Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (tenure-track, nine-month
appointment), Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management with a
focus in Tourism, Conventions and Event Management
Responsibilities:
The candidate selected for this position will teach undergraduate and
graduate courses in tourism, conventions, and event management. He/she is
expected to advise undergraduate students and serve on graduate student
committees. In addition, the candidate is expected to engage in scholarly
research; student focused teaching and learning; and service to the
Department, University and to external constituencies.
Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in tourism studies or related discipline with an
emphasis in tourism, conventions and event management and a minimum of
five years of industry or related experience in conventions, event or
destination management. Candidates must have an established record of
research/publications to qualify for graduate faculty status. (Candidates
who are ABD will be considered for this position, however, they must have
completed all of the requirements for their doctoral degree on or before
September 01, 2003).
Rank and Salary:
Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (tenure-track, nine-month
appointment). Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.
Starting Date:
September 01, 2003 or negotiable
