The University of Mississippi
The National Food Service Management Institute seeks an experienced and
visionary leader for the position of Executive Director. Located on the
campus of The University of Mississippi, the Institute operates under an
agreement with the USDA/FNS to provide information and services that
promote the continuous improvement of Child Nutrition Programs. The
Executive Director will direct the divisions of education, applied
research, and administration; enhance teamwork and the development of
innovative programs; implement the strategic plan to reflect trends and
needs of Child Nutrition Programs; maintain and promote effective
partnerships with stakeholders and affiliated academic institutions;
continue liaison with the USDA/FNS and the ASFSA; chair the National
Advisory Council; submit reports; and administer the budget.
Required qualifications: demonstrated expertise in Child Nutrition
Programs; a degree in Food Service Management/ Institution Management(FSM/IM);
a doctorate in FSM/IM, Foods and Nutrition, Education, or a related area;
excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills; successful
work with federal/state regulations and agencies, administrative
experience, professional staff leadership, grant funding and management;
and recognition within the profession.
