Directs and
manages the
development and

Residential Life
department.
- Manages
departmental staff
and operations

department in

incoming students

conference services
- Develops and
communicates
protocol for

emergencies

development and

student development

department liaison

the department of
Safety & Security to
provide education of
services available
to resident students
- Develops and
manages annual
operating budget
- Coordinates with
Student Conduct in
matters related to
residence halls and
dining services
- Provides parents
with information
about services
available for
students and in
coordinating
resolutions for
student or parent
concerns.
- Develops plan for
controlling expenses
and identifying new
sources of income
- Coordinates with
the University's
Public Relations
department in all
matters concerning
the media
- Liaison with
external community
groups in University
supported activities
and programs that
may impact the
community
- Masters degree in
Student Personnel
Administration,
Higher Education,
Education
Administration or
Business
Administration.
- 6-8 year's
progressively
responsible
supervisory and
managerial
experience in
Residence Life
and/or related
field.
- Strategic planning
skills
- Strong oral,
written and
interpersonal
communication skills
and the ability to
work collaboratively
with faculty, staff,
administrators, and
students at all
levels in a complex
and diverse
environment.
- Proficiency in the
development and
management of
budgets.
- Knowledge of
facility management,
student development,
collaborative
learning, residence
hall programming,
building learning
communities, and
staff development.
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Office,
Internet Explorer
and Outlook
- Experience in and
commitment to
working in a
multicultural
environment.
- Doctorate
