Big Rock Brewery, Ltd. (Big Rock), established in 1985, is a regional producer and marketer of specialty draught and packaged beer located in Calgary , Alberta , Canada . Big Rock brews its premium beers using only water, hops, yeast and various combinations of malted barley and malted wheat. The Company's products contain no preservatives or adjuncts. Rather than using pasteurization, which affects the flavor of the beer, all products are packaged after cold sterile filtration. The Company's brands include Traditional Ale, Grasshopper Wheat Ale, Warthog Cream Ale, McNally's Extra Ale, India Pale Ale, Alberta Genuine Draft, McNally's Reserve, Kold Glacier Water Lager, Black Amber Ale and Rock Creek Cider.

The Company is a regional producer, marketer and distributor of bottles, cans and kegs of premium-quality specialty beers. It has sales and distribution facilities at the brewery in Calgary , Alberta , as well as in Edmonton , Alberta . Company sales representatives are also present in British Columbia , Saskatchewan , Manitoba and Ontario . Through its 50% interest in the BWB Joint Venture, the Company has, since January 1, 2002 , sold and distributed Bear, Whistler and Bowen products in British Columbia and Alberta . In the western United States , the Company's products are distributed by third-party agents.

During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2002 (fiscal 2002), the Company continued to grow its business around its two core brands, Traditional and Grasshopper, and introduced Alberta Genuine Draft in cans. During fiscal 2002, McNally's Reserve was introduced in draft. It replaced the Company's Black Amber brand, which had been experiencing declining sales. Also during fiscal 2002, India Pale Ale replaced the Chinook brand. Big Rock intends to develop more lager-style products in the future.
