7540 LBJ Fwy. Carlson Restaurants has a lot of Friday's for which to be thankful. Its 700 T.G.I. Friday's (one-third are company-owned; the rest are franchised) casual dining restaurants can be found in 47 US states and 55 countries. The eateries feature dark wood, brass rails, and stained glass, and offer fare such as Jack Daniels Grill items, the Tex-Mex tower of appetizers, and Mocha Mud Pie. In 2001 the company bought the 51-chain "Americanized Chinese" Pick Up Stix restaurants for an undisclosed amount. Carlson Restaurants also operated 21 upscale restaurants such as Italianni's, Samba Room, Star Canyon, and Timpano Italian Chophouse. However, the company has been selling off or closing units of these now misnamed Emerging Brands in order to help finance 95 more Pick Up Stix units by 2005. Carlson Restaurants is a subsidiary of Carlson Companies. Financial Main Page | IGHRM Main Page ©
