GMRI, a subsidiary of Darden Restaurants, operates the
company's brand-name chains, including Red Lobster, the world's largest casual
dining seafood restaurant; Caribbean-themed Bahama Breeze; Italian-eatery the
Olive Garden; and barbecue joint Smokey Bones. Red Lobster has some 640
locations in the US and Canada, and the Olive Garden has about 490 stores. Newer
concepts Bahama Breeze and Smokey Bones operate 29 and 19 restaurants,
respectively. All but 40 Darden restaurants are located in the
