Santa Barbara Restaurant Group (SBRG) has a lot on its plate. The firm owns or franchises some 100 La Salsa restaurants, more than 25 Timber Lodge Steakhouses, and nearly 35 Green Burrito restaurants. SBRG also has franchised its Green Burrito concept for co-branded locations with Carl's Jr. (nearly 200 units). SBRG sold its JB's Family Restaurants subsidiary, which includes the Galaxy Diners, to JB's management in 2000. CKE Restaurants (Carl's Jr., Hardee's) bought SBRG in 2002 (it had owned more than 40% of SBRG prior to the acquisition). Chairman William Foley is also chairman of CKE Restaurants, as well as of Fidelity National Financial.
