The company operates or franchises more than 6,400 Taco Bell restaurants in the US , where it enjoys some 70% of the Mexican fast food market. It also operates about 240 Taco Bell restaurants abroad. Along with Pizza Hut and KFC, Taco Bell is one of the three divisions of Yum! Brands (formerly TRICON Global), the world's #2 fast-food company after McDonald's. All three were subsidiaries of PepsiCo until they were spun off in 1997.
