You don't need to swing an ax to eat at Timber Lodge Steakhouse, just a sharp knife. The family restaurant chain, known for its Paul Bunyan-sized portions, serves a dinner menu of steaks, prime rib, and barbecued ribs, along with seafood, chicken, and pork chops. The eateries feature log-framed interiors, hardwood floors, and fireplaces, with hunting and fishing memorabilia adorning the walls. Its 25-plus locations are mostly in the Midwest , with about a dozen in the Minneapolis area. Timber Lodge is a subsidiary of Santa Barbara Restaurant Group (Green Burrito, La Salsa), which was bought by CKE Restaurants (Hardee's, Carl's Jr.) in 2002.
