BRL Hardy hopes to crush the competition by doing the same to grapes. The wine company controls more than 20% of the Australian market and exports to 60 countries worldwide. BRL Hardy's portfolio of brands includes Banrock Station, Leasingham, and Hardys (#2 in the UK), among others, and includes wines in every price category. Most of the company's vineyards are in southern Australia, with others scattered across the country and in France. It is building its US business through Pacific Wine Partners, a joint venture with Constellation Brands. Constellation, a US wine maker, is acquiring BRL Hardy. The firm was founded in 1922 by the merger of Berri Renmano and Thomas Hardy and Sons wine companies
