Taittinger has something to be bubbly about. Where celebrations are concerned, the champagne and wine producer has one of the most recognized brands. Founded by Jacques Fourneaux in 1734 and controlled by the Taittinger family since 1931, the company produces its champagne and wines (mostly pinot noir and chardonnay) in Europe and the US . Through subsidiaries in Europe , Japan , and the US , Taittinger also has interests in luxury and economy hotels, restaurants, crystal (Baccarat), perfume, and banking. The company also owns 83% of Domaine Carneros, which has about 175 acres in the Napa and Sonoma valleys of California . The Taittinger family controls 57% of the voting stock.
