R.H. Phillips has tilled more wealth than wrath from Steinbeck country. The California vineyard and winery sells premium and superpremium table wines. R.H. Phillips produces about 450,000 cases of wine a year under its name and labels such as EXP, Kempton Clark, and Toasted Head. Its Chateau St. Nicholas label is sold during the Christmas holiday and features a picture of the jolly ol' man himself. Chardonnay accounts for about half of sales. The company's wine is sold in the US (primarily in the Northeast), Canada, and 14 other countries. Vincor, a Canada-based wine maker, bought the company in October 2000
