Alliance Abroad Int’l, Inc., a division of Alliance Abroad Group, Inc., brings international students and recent graduates to the United States and provides opportunities for short or long-term internships. Granted designation by the Department of State as a sponsor of the J-1 visa, Alliance Abroad Int’l, Inc. is more than just a facilitator in educational and work exchanges, Alliance Abroad Int’l delivers a comprehensive service that includes a Global Support Network, unique to our company, that demonstrates dedication and commitment to helping others succeed. Our comprehensive service provides placement prior to the participant’s arrival, and includes ongoing support from the time participants are selected for the program, to the time they return home. 

Requirements: 

  • From 18 to 30 years old.
  • Capable and comfortable functioning in an English-speaking environment (the participant must have the equivalent of a 550 TOEFL) in order to pass the visa interview at the US Consulate and to be able to succeed in the program.
  • Current or recently graduated student status.
  • Interest in a training program that will enhance academic or career interests.
  • Study or background in the field of training or internship.
  • The "Specialty Trainees" must have a 4-year degree in the subject matter or related field.
  • The "Non-specialty Trainees" must have at least 2 years of college or 2 years of experience in the related field.

Placement areas:
Trainee Program offers 6 to 18 months paid positions in Hospitality Management and Food & Beverage Management field. On a limited basis, Business/Finance/Management, Business/ Sales/Marketing, and Information & Communications Technologies placements are available.

Stipend:
The stipend is a minimum of $1000 per month depending on the Trainee’s skills, experiences, and level of English.

  • Trainee position is secured prior to arrival.
  • Paperwork coordination for J-1 Visa documentation.
    Alliances Abroad works with sponsors that are designated by the
    State Department for the J-1 programs. Neither Alliances Abroad nor
    its sponsor has the authority to grant visas. This decision rests with each American Consulate abroad and is up to their individual discretion.
  • Health Insurance
  • Orientation
  • Advise on or assistance in obtaining Social Security Card
  • A Global Support Network offering appropriate assistance and quarterly meetings/activities
  • An Emergency 24-hour Assistance telephone number: 1 866 IM IN USA
  • Detailed participant handbook that contains relevant and important information the program
  • Inexpensive travel information: listings of airfares, trips within the U.S.
  • Tax Refund Services which will assist the participant in reclaiming a good portion of the taxes paid in the U.S.
  • Airport Pick-up (optional)
  • Temporary Housing Assistance (optional) when the company does not provide
