2005 Intern Program – Eagles Mere Inn
Housing/ Compensation for Program The Administrator of the Intern program will determine the location of housing. Compensation will be commensurate with the Intern’s experience and apparent professional ability. Program Common reasons for operational failures in this business comes from Innkeepers not having sufficient knowledge & experience in the base details of each job so that they can adequately train & supervise their staff; and cater to the hospitality needs of guests. This educational program is designed to provide the intern with practical experience in all aspects of basic job tasks & responsibilities and while doing those tasks, observe & participate in the essential hospitality aspects of this business. Hosting & Hospitality Tasks Greet guests and empathetically recognize & fulfill guest needs in an environment of genuine hospitality When Innkeepers are not on property, oversee the operation of the Inn, guest service and staffing.
Front Desk Tasks Telephone & Walk-in Reception Handle: Inquiries, Booking Rooms, Information requests, Check-in & Outs, Cleanliness & stocking of Exterior, Public areas, Service Closets & Food/Beverage supplies Opening and Closing Duties Safety & Security Tasks Learn, and have the responsibility to meet, the emergency needs of guests as well as to assure a safe environment for all guests and Staff, plus, the security of the property, equipment & supplies of the Inn.
Housekeeping & Laundry Tasks - orientation Be capable of making up Rooms and cleaning Rooms & Public Areas Occasionally do Rooms & Restaurant Laundry, Organize & Stock Supplies & Supply closets Maintenance Tasks - orientation Anticipate and respond to maintenance needs, calling the appropriate repair persons. Dining Room & Pub Service Tasks - orientation Learn & practice all aspects of Food & Beverage service for all meal periods. Learn & practice techniques to empathetically recognize & fulfill guest needs in an environment of genuine hospitality Kitchen Tasks - orientation Know proper techniques for preparation, production, service, storage & sanitation for Hot and Cold foods, plus, equipment, tableware & utensils
