Curvware reinvents *Flat*ware
CurvwareTM
provides an unparalleled experience of comfort and style
(Sarasota,
FL, April 1, 2003) – Curvware is changing the way people think about what
they put between their fingers and their food. After 500 years, there is a
viable alternative to flatware (and chopsticks). What makes them
different? First, this patented design provides comfort unobtainable with
flatware. Curvware is to flatware what the lever handle is to the round
door knob. Where flatware requires a great deal of fine motor skills,
Curvware requires none. This is especially meaningful to those with Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome or Arthritis. Comfort counts. It is its unusual shape
however, that is the ‘attention getter’; especially with the fashion
conscious. This is why more than 80% of brides-to-be surveyed said they
would put Curvware in their registry.
Curvware doesn’t
“nest”. Nesting is why flatware comes out of a dishwasher dirty. Forks
stick together with other forks; spoons stick together with other spoons;
and a diner finds food encrustation on the utensils. Not so with Curvware.
They have a proprietary rack system for commercial use which drastically
reduces labor and assures a hygienic solution flatware causes.
CurvwareTM
is the brainchild of an Italian/American designer (Mark Wilson) who has
lived on both sides of the ocean and has made a point of combining Italian
Design with American practicality. This is exactly what you see and feel
when you use this product. The elegant curves have a softness that is only
experienced when you hold them. Hand crafted in northern Italy of 18/10
stainless, the finishes are impeccable. The company has designs for rack
for home use as well as well as serving pieces that will follow the launch
of this first line.
While the style and
comfort appeals to the user, the foodservice industry is focused on the
labor and hygiene problems Curvware solves. Washing flatware is labor
intensive and represents a potentially serious health hazard. The vast
majority of restaurants do not wash their flatware according to health
department code. The CurvwareTM
solution includes a rack design that makes it much easier and quicker to
wash the product effectively and store them without ever touching them.
Lois Bloom of FOOD ARTS
Magazine says… “As ergonomic
state-of-the-art stainless steel flatware, The Flamingo epitomizes
functional art”.
June Bride:
“This is way cool. I am definitely putting this in my bridal registry!”
Aaron
Fodiman of
TAMPA BAY Magazine says …
“Years from now when you use Curvware, and
you will, think of me, I believed in it first.”
Renown Chef Roberto
Donna of GALILEO RESTAURANT says … “Curvware
are good fun tools to make dining more interesting.”
Clifford Gross, Ph.D.,
one of the country’s leading ergonomists says …
“The beauty of the design is that it
goes away from the pinch grasp and goes to the power grasp. So right there
it leverages more muscles in the hand and forearm. This is smart design.”
